Arab sports fans after the massacre
2008-03-11

The Israeli Football Association ordered that all football games over the past weekend should begin with a moment of silence in memory of the victims of the massacre at Merkaz Harav last Thursday evening. In all Jewish cities there was a dignified silence amongst all fans, regardless of political affiliations.

In most Arab areas, however, nobody bothered to even announce the moment of silence. In larger Arab cities, however, where media was present at football games, the moment of silence was announced and the crowd responded with loud boos and anti-Jewish slurs. In truth, it was stupid for the Football Associations to have even tried this.Only those who desperately wish to delude themselves of reality would expect an Arab reaction different from what took place.

The true feelings of the Arabs in this country were expressed over the weekend and this should teach the Israeli people that like the Arab members of our Knesset, the Arab street celebrates the killing of Jews.
